The reserve was established July 18, 1988 in the Belarusian part of the exclusion zone in the territory of the three most affected by the disaster areas of the Gomel region - Bragin, Narovlya and Khoiniki. Human intervention is minimal, it is possible to observe the development of the wildlife in the conditions of Belarus.
